I am there with you.... we buy rodent repellant by the case. Every car whether parked in the shop or driveway gets a full spray every few weeks and it leaves a nice "clove" aroma as an air freshener afterward.

I am a ham as well, but I will be installing a GMRS radio in the Slate if possible as our family uses GMRS for county wide communication as there is no cell phone coverage until you get MUCH closer to "town" .
