Hello everyone, we've just upgraded the server so some posts from this morning have been lost. Sorry for any inconvenience, but the good news is that this will greatly increase site speed! 👍

Note: The search index is still being rebuilt, so search results and your content page will be blank/incomplete until rebuild is finished.

If you should experience any unexpected issues, please reach out to us via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the site.

P.S. If anyone has an alert bubble that they can't clear, try this solution:

1) open your full alerts page: https://www.slateforums.com/forum/account/alerts?show_only=all

2) scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on "select all" and "Mark read" then click "Go". This should hopefully clear your alert bubble.

3) if that didn't work, repeat step #2 for all successive alert pages (if you have any) - i.e. pages 2, 3, etc..

I'm glad the upgrade happened because I could tell there was something in the content delivery chain that was straining / at its limit. Sometimes pages would require a refresh or two before loading.

Now it's snappy. Cool!

Thanks
wonder if this will affect ability to open links? Many times a link will open to the web page and immediately close and go back to the post.

That happens to me too. I have to carefully copy and open the link in a browser. I use the forum app.

I just hope the link issue is fixed where at least on my iPhone 15 when I click a link it would just pop me back to the survey

Video of situation sent to administrator. Had to figure out how to add screenshot video to the control center of my iPhone 13. I had assumed it was just me, as I grew up with phones that have a dial on them.

Thanks for your efforts to improve site performance. Honestly , I never had issues other than non working links to other sites. Just curious- Will the lost posts be restored along with the search index?

I was having that problem too, but I thought it was just my phone.
