Article: Slate’s Truck was Designed to Break - And for You to Fix It (w/ Slateforums.com mention by Slate Auto)

Agreed, I know vehicle crash testing takes months, but you think we would have some updates by now. Slate can't start production until the design is frozen. And the production countdown clock is ticking. Speaking of crash testing, the frontal and offset load tests are concerning with that...

I hate the dashboard!! (and I propose a redesign)

So I guess their claim that "Slate is listening to customers" only matters if they agree with you... I remember this truck was initially marketed as a BYOD (bring your own device) and the DIN radio option was kind of an afterthought. I'm guessing that 99.9% of customers have cell phones...

I hate the dashboard!! (and I propose a redesign)

If executed properly, the tablet should be the focal point of the dash as long as the software application engineers at Slate get it right. The tablet can integrate most if not all of the functions we need most while driving. If the phone rings (caller displayed) or you want to call one of...

Expected price now "Mid-Twenties" for Slate truck

Nice truck. I'm sure the dealer will add in some options you don't want to inflate the out the door price. Final assembly point, Mexico. Just a side bar question, how is this exempt from tariffs?

Expected price now "Mid-Twenties" for Slate truck

I’m going to repost a picture I took yesterday. This is what you can expect with a 25 year old pickup truck with 150k+ miles. This is why you should buy the Slate. Any questions?

Drive a Slate and this will never happen again!

Kind of makes you think twice before buying a used high mileage ICE. In my opinion, Slate now offers an affordable alternative.

Wrapped Orange Slate SUV and Pickup (with white roofs) inside Slate's pre-production facility

Really liking the protruding rubber inserts on the upgraded bumpers on the orange Slate. Kind of a retro look and also helps protect the bumpers in a parallel parking situation.

I think it’s called “Agent Orange.”

Drive a Slate and this will never happen again!

This is what inevitably happens with ICE older vehicles over time… Now think about YOUR driveway or garage 🤔

Video: Tall Person Tested (6'9") in Slate Driver's Seat

Yes looks like Cobb fits but his legs are up against the dash. Wonder if they hit the steering wheel? Talk about hands free driving!

Business Insider Article - who does the Slate appeal to? Which category are you?

Not surprising that everyone can find themselves in at least one category. That would be "everyday Americans." Unless there are some part timers out there. ;)

    Leak Proof Body???

Waterproofing has been on my list of concerns from the beginning. What is the integrity of the seals for the SUV kits and how many conversions before the seal bulbs begin to deteriorate? Wonder if Slate will offer a new seal as a standalone recommended replacement part. Also concerning is the...

    Noise requirement?

Agreed. Actually, there have been a few recalls on ev's that are too quiet. Like the Dodge Charger and the Chevy Equinox. I find some of the artificial pedestrian warning sounds a bit annoying, like the new Honda Prologue and the Tesla when in reverse gear.

Business Insider Article - who does the Slate appeal to? Which category are you?

In this article, Slate Auto CEO Chris Barman described the types of buyers interested in the company's low-cost electric truck. The demographic groups include “everyday Americans”; young professionals, college graduates, newly-licensed drivers, contemporary seniors, retirees, and “car junkies.”...

Seattle Space Needle event - Slate truck photos, impressions, answers

Well, if you look at the area below circled in blue, that cut hose appears to be directly on top of the steering rack. When they removed the frunk plastic panels to expose the plumbing / electricals I imagine that section of hose (removed from this view) would reach up to the top of the frunk to...

Seattle Space Needle event - Slate truck photos, impressions, answers

Can someone please explain to me how a motor-driven hydraulic unit for power steering is a better fit than an electric steering rack in a vehicle marketed to be low maintenance? Power steering fluid to leak and replace after x years? Hoses that can get brittle and clamps that can loosen over...
