Cargo Kit, custom wrap, 2ā lift, AT tires, roof rack, powered BT speakers, center console. Maybe the rear bumper and spare tire carrier too. The great part is all of those things can be added over time or done all at once up front and rolled into the purchase price.
Agreed...this should be an option if not standard equipment. Even my incredibly simple FJ has power mirrors (and windows too). That said, unfortunately there are a lot of drivers out there who never use their side mirrors...I'm hoping Slate makes it easier for people to use their side mirrors...
I have my eye on the Cargo Kit and have made the following assumptions about it:
Its basically the same topper as the SUV Kit and can be wrapped the same way.
It doesn't include the SUV Kit rear seats or airbags, thus it costs less.
It doesn't include the roll bar which I think is a safety...
A few people have suggested that Slate is taking delivery of components made in China, then assembling them in their Warsaw factory. Personally, I don't have a problem with this as global supply chains make sense. I'm just wondering how the current Federal executive branch might impact the cost...
Everything about the Slate fob is intentional. It can be customized...like the truck. It is well-branded. Its not trying to impress anyone with some kind of curvy design that serves no purpose. It just does its job at the lowest possible cost and the greatest amount of value...just like the truck.
I love what both Scout and Slate are doing and agree that their missions are different with a small amount of target market overlap (they are both EVs). The Scout is an extremely capable, off road vehicle that just happens to be an EV. Pricing is meant to undercut Rivian R1T/S, but also Toyota...
I think the point is that the Model T only came one way: standard. One color (black) and one set of features. The Slate takes that idea and adds the ability to customize it DIY and add more battery capacity from the factory. People who love to work on their cars are going to have a field day...
So impressed. After years of working in organizations completely focused on internal politics and infighting for promotion (and meetings for the sake of having meetings), itās great to hear that Slate is taking a fresh approach built on passion for the product.
Do you live in an area where they salt the roads in winter? My brotherās Vermont Tacos all rusted out horribly. Luckily my ā12 FJ is still rust-free, but my god the fuel economy is terrible.
Iām sure Slate will have custom graphics options (eg. upload your own image files) to build a custom wrap panel by panelā¦with a 3D configurator to show exactly what the wrap will look like on the vehicle. Iāll ask Slate to do the wrapping.
Me too. It has a 1400 pound payload. Thatās more than enough for any small business doing light haulingā¦or any weekend warrior taking the bikes to a trailhead. If you need more towing capacity, buy a different vehicle.
