5-Seat SUV conversion kit? Or sticking to pickup only?

Will you be running your Slate as an SUV, pickup, or both?

Want just the top. We would move the back glass and keep the partition if it adds rigidity, but if not, we’d pull the partition out and open up the rear seat cavity as a place to put groceries, etc. behind the seats.

I suspect you either keep the partition or get the roll bar.
The FAQs list a Cargo Kit body style option. I’m assuming that’s the SUV topper with no seats, airbags, or roll bar. Glass or solid side panels. The cab rear partition (with third brake light and glass) gets relocated to the rear of the topper. There must be a wiring harness for the light located at the rear of the bed…it might be possible to tap into that for a DC outlet.

I hope Slate sell just the roll bar. I'll go with a brace of KC HiLiTES and a chrome toggle switch from Radio Shack.

I'll take the roof but not the seats. Lots of room for tools and keep them dry. Maybe opening windows in the back like a truck topper.
AGREE. Hopefully they just sell a Fastback Shaped Cap - without all the cost of Seats, Airbags, Seatbelts, etc.

I want to leave the Bulkhead behind the Front Seats and just flip up the Rear Glass so if I have dogs in the back they get AC/Heat.

The fastback top was initially shown with fixed glass. You can’t take the rear glass off the cab and use it without some additional work as it needs to have a longer vertical component if installed at an angle and you want to maintain the body lines. I bet the fastback will eventually come with a flip up new larger back gla$$ and you don’t get to reuse the cab glass.

I'm pretty sure the cab bulkhead needs to be relocated for either of the toppers (straight or fastback) to be attached. What I'm not sure about is if the topper requires the relocated bulkhead to be attached in order to be structurally stable...it might. Not sure how they are going to reuse the bulkhead with the fastback topper...geometrically I don't see how it would work.
