Haha, my rule is:
Red Loctite on large torchable bolts or things that you don't care if they become permanent.
Blue loctite is for when you don't want to need to torch it, but plan on it anyway.
Vibratite is what you want for anything under like, M10.
If you need extreme vibration resistance and serviceability, use some sort of mechanical locking (cotter pins, safety wire, etc.).

3500 watt inverter and your choice is limitless. Go deaf if you want in that small cabin.
Sure you could go with a big party speaker, but I was talking even the like 8 inch long battery powered ones. Seemed to start when Anker entered the market, just like they did with batteries, they had stuff that just performed, and forced multiple other companies to step it up.

I have never once found a need to use heat with blue.
I for one am just glad to have stoked the fires of division on one of automotive enthusiasts favorite endless arguments. Should we cover oil sampling and testing methods next?
LMK your opinion on oil so I can tell you why it's wrong.

(This isn't the first time I've seen almost this exact exchange go down)

Oil talk on an EV forum? 😂 I am in!

Two weeks ago I mentioned Slate in an oil analysis thread over at Mazda247 and admin had to move it to a new thread.

I don't have any oil opinions, but I'm willing to pretend I do for the sake of internet fighting.
I recommend starting with "Oil testing? What is that? I just wait for my oil light to come on and then top it off like a normal person." That will definitely please everyone to hear.

Look, if Toyota wanted the oil in my 1zz to stay in the oil pan, they would have designed the oil rings to actually work.

oil testing? I just put in a quart every time I fill up because I left it all on the road behind me. It’s the oil change of Theseus

Fun Fact, some big rig diesel engines do this on purpose, they have an injector that sips a very small quantity of the crankcase oil and mixes it with the fuel so it is constantly burning a small amount of its oil. Then instead of changing the oil, you just change the filter (fiber filter in a top mounted reservoir), and top off. Theseus's oil change!

Of course some diesel engines do this unintentionally as the piston rings gradually fail and oil slips past them into the combustion chamber. This isn't actually a big deal - a diesel engine will happily run on motor oil. What does become a big deal is if so much is slipping past that it doesn't actually NEED the main fuel injectors anymore, it will start gradually running faster and faster on its own. You can shut off the ignition, disconnect the battery, whatever you want, and it won't stop because the diesel ignition cycle doesn't require any external power or input. Eventually it will go so fast that it will self destruct and throw a rod. The only way to stop it is to discharge a CO2 extinguisher into the intake.

But of course, everyone is concerned about EV safety. ;)

I use the Jetsons’ doorbell (from the theme song “Meet George Jetson”) as my lock chime. It always makes me smile
