I'm not going to hunt for it at the moment, but it should be easy, find a video where the turn signal and brake lights are both on, if one light stays on steady, while the other brightens and dims, that would be the "dual filament" (Actually LEDs most likely) if one is on steady and the other blinks, it's single element, as being assumed in this discussion.
A dual filament bulb does not split brake and turn. You can’t have a dim turn or brake light and a brighter of the other. Dual filament bulbs are used for combined running lights and indicators. This will indeed be a dual filament bulb, but that has nothing do to with this topic or what I have said.

Dual filament bulb would be for brake/turn on one line, and running light on a second line, still one bulb. A single bulb, with a single colored tailight housing, means it’s only one color, which means turn and brake signals are combined. Has nothing to do with knowing the wiring, just have to look at the light and you can see it’s a combined unit.
I ask because you had proposed a solution based on how many wires are used for the bulb...
When you have a bulb that combines turn a s signal into one, only one wire is needed for signal, there is no distinction between the two, to make the turn and stop split, you have to send a seperate signal from the car, which the Slate does not have.
...and wonder how you know this for a fact?

It's easy to jump to the conclusion that you are assuming the wiring layout based on your past experience, but wanted to hear from you rather than make another unfounded assumption. Or maybe you know how the Slate Truck will be wired? Slate doesn't give out many details - although, we are 'getting closer to production' as we've been told!

Clear taillights is an option in the maker so those at least look possible.

If you look at the light, there is one color lens. Therefore one bulb color, which means that turn and brake are combined. Which means one signal is sent to the bulb for both turn and brake, the “High” output filament. If they use dual filament, (which basically they have no option to) then they use the “low” output as the running light.

Has nothing to with knowing what specifically the Slate has, it’s just what every auto manufacturer does to follow legality. If they used LEDs, theres a million more options on how they wire it, even with one color tail light. But since LEDs are an accessory, the standard lights will be incandescent bulbs. Not trying to argue here, but I can assure you they will used a combined turn/brake light in one signal for the tailight. Dual or single filament bulb does not change this as you can’t use the low output of the buob for either if those functions

Sure isn't a deal breaker for me.
I'm from the old school where we had single bulbs with double filaments, the 1157 bulb.
I plan to remove the black grill over the tail lights as well.
