I probably should address this as a question for SLATE - but not sure those on the Chat have the ready knowlege for answering this?
From what you all have seen so far with 12V and other cabin hook ups - is there a possibility for leaving one's favorite pet in the cabin for 20 to 50 minutes? (while leaving to run an errand that may go longer than you want it to)
That means will need to run a fan, monitor the inside temperature, and ideally - devise some in-facing cabin camera to watch how your pet is doing? (also make sure no one is trying to bash in the window from well-meaning concern)

(and of course, this concern could extend to a small child? elderly parent? valuable plants? left behind)

Probably only if you leave the keyfob in the truck’s power on slot in the dash. The remote start will probably time off after 10 to 20 minutes like most cars.
My Equinox EV you can set it to stay on for 60 minutes or put it in service mode and leave it on indefinitely, or till the HV battery dies.

This is my major concern with the telematic module. Will it be required for cabin ac when parked with my dogs. More importantly is details as to topper, SUV or Cargo, no rollbar or seat.

i also intend internet access cameras, likely using my Eufy security.

My major concern with a Telematics module would be it draining what appears to be a motorcycle battery. It might give the app State of Charge (SoC) percentage and Guess-O-Meter (GOM) miles remaining but who knows about passenger compartment temperature? As said by @EV Trek if it only Remote Starts the vehicle, that’s unlikely to be for more than 10-20 minutes.

In considering my camera, internet addons, the 12v battery is at the forefront and whether it needs to be replaced or augmented.

I have one misting fan and one regular fan, both rechargeable, that can keep them cool on road trips. Upon arrival at camp, I keep them in the car for 10 to 15 minutes when I get things set up outside.

To monitor their condition remotely, you can use any Wi-Fi camera that connects to a hotspot. Any old phone can work as a hotspot (and security camera). For occasional usage, 2gb of data is $6/mo or 10gb for $13/mo (Tello).

Remember to tape your phone number on the window if you step away. Once I left my chi-terrier mix in the car to grab a few items of grocery, it was less than 15 minutes, the window was partially rolled down, and it was not hot under the sun. I came out to a lady standing by the door and on the phone with the PD or animal control. She wrapped up her call after seeing me approach.

I aske Slate about this, and they said if the fob is inserted the ac, or heat can stay on . Problem that i see would be how do lock it with the key fob inside? I did not realize at the time there is no actual key. I am pretty sure this where you need the telematics module.

EUFY security? I really hope it doesn't mean we need the Telematic module

There is a physical key that will unlock the doors. If you take that with you you could leave the truck up and running the air or heat and use the key to unlock on your return.

Thanks - good advice.
You are running the fan off the 12V hookup?

Clarify
i has Eufy cams set up at home, feed into the Eufy Security app. My thought is add Eufy cam or two to Slate and I can monitor dogs on my iphone same app.

This was my idea too. Can’t leave all dogs to their own devices with the windows down…

They fans have built in batteries and can run for hours once fully charged. You can charge them with the 12v cig port or USB. I charge with roof solar.

Mine is similar but no longer listed on Amazon. I clamp it onto the grab handle. 8 inch is a good size, smaller ones are weak even when on max.

I use misting fans because it is very dry in my area. I hope not to turn into a raisin too soon. 😳
