Early deliveries to be region based, with early reservations prioritized

This news is concerning for me with a "second-day" reservation. Because the "by region" stipulation may mean I will not see my Slate truck until 2028. I live in remote New Mexico, one of the least populated regions of the country -- for hundreds of miles.

Sounds like a jet flight and long road trip home may be in order. But then how do I retrieve my car at the air port over 100 miles away? I don't think my Tesla is load rated to tow the Slate truck on a rented car trailer, or vica versa. Tesla delivered my Model Y to my house for $700 out of Colorado. Maybe Slate will offer a similar service from a regional distribution hub.

I feel your pain on that one. Fortunately for me , the one I have now could tow a Slate on a trailer.

I really don't think they will put months later reservations ahead of first days reservations, unless it is just to finish off a load of trucks going to that location.
I am day 3 or 4, not going to bother checking now, and yeah, that may put me months later in actually getting the truck, though it all depends on conversion rate, and how they actually decide to set things up, and we know none of that so far. More rural areas will probably have to drive farther to get it, or pay for curbside delivery, and pricing on that will probably be on a case by case basis. Hopefully they will at least consider the driving range of the Slate when they decide who to offer the trucks to first, I am in range of Los Angeles, or Long Beach, and I'm guessing they will have that area allocated for some of the relatively early loads, considering the work they do there and how interest in the area has been mentioned.

If they on the other hand look at like 30 mile range from the address you put in, and don't ask how far you are willing to travel, some first hours reservations might take a long time to get to.

Pickup at the factory or anywhere close may not even be an option depending on if they manage to get around Indiana's dealer only except Tesla law. Those laws haven't really been brought up by Slate.
