Thinking out loud

Slate should use the early adopters as marketing agents, they could have a program where if you brought it to a local car show, coffee and cars, cruise night, ect and submit a picture from the event you would get points (credit) toward the accessory shop

also a referral program where if someone puts your name in as a referral you would get credit toward accessories

this could help spur more interest

Yes! There are unlimited opportunities for points, and at some point Chris Barman (former CEO) acknowledged that Slate is looking into some kind of program. As an example, Tesla offers referral codes for merch and even generous incentives on new vehicles. I think it’s an exciting opportunity to grow the business and promote Slate in every corner of the market.

Absolutely, I’ve suggested a couple times, even a door placard and material to handout .

I will take it to Home Depot and park out front to load plants/wood into the bed. I will take my sweet time in strapping them down. For additional points, I will wear short shorts instead of cargo pants. "Bad Moon Rising" and "Dark Night" will be playing on repeat.

But I don't have any particular accessories in mind. How about super charging credits?

If Elon offers life time supercharging to my truck, I will wear this banner on the tail gate: 👍Elon👍

If there will be a local meet for Slate trucks, I'd suggest any Home Depot in the early evening. Hell, if they wanna meet at Costco, I will go. Those crowds would probably be interested. Hold on, do I have to worry about Maverick or Bolt owners approaching me to start a debate? 😅 "You know, for $2K more, you can have ALL THIS!"

The local Bmw 2002 group used to meet in front of Harbor Freight on Sunday mornings. They probably still do but I haven't visited HF for a year or two.

Sadly, I think there will always be this sort of person. I'm confident enough to stand by the decisions I make, so will try and not be bothered too much or feel like I need to defend my position. "Dude, it's just a little truck, my daily-driver; not the end of civilization! Chill!" 😂 But ya, I think that could be a thing.

With Saturn, we had a lot of fun and meetups. Early customers were the biggest champions. GM returned us squat, and killed the car. Thanks a lot, GM!

My neighbor, recent Silverado EV owner took his truck to some sort of EV meetup in town, suggests I should too.

Sounds like fun! I would hope that "fellow EV owners" would appreciate and welcome your Slate rather than be snobs, and I'd guess there would be very few Slates on the Island so it would be a treat!
