Very cool. I dig the 'harvest gold' paint and the tie down anchors on the exterior of the bed.(function over form) Looks like an 8 foot bed. I wonder if they even offered a rear bumper as an option. I remember some of the old Mazda's without a bumper had rubber blocks about where a bumper would mount and the body work was done in a way to make it not look naked without the bumper.

I love the tie down rails on the outside of the bed. You still see that on modern trucks sold in areas where people still use trucks for hauling instead of commuting.

My wife owned an ancient Toyota truck. A real workhorse. Simple, honest. I also owned a Datsun truck back in the day. Now that was a rolling POS.

Great little truck. My wife had a blue one, with a Leer top when we met. Good times and memories. She still gives me grief for trading it years later. I agree.

The tiedown rails remind me of something. I wonder if the Sllate has openings for bed stakes. You can walk into any auto parts store and buy $15 tiedown cleats that fasten into those openings and are great for securing loads. My Maverick has a bedside rail managment system, and it's nice, but I miss simple cleats.
