Random article I found that I thought could go here for some of us to read:
Older Teslas are wearing out in ways owners never saw coming – Morning Overview

IMHO Slate would really not suffer from a lot of these due to its overall inherent design concept of K.I.S.S. and DIY underpinnings; basically the exact opposite of every other modern EV (or ICEV really) that I've looked into.
Yes just give me simple things that are relatively easy to fix.

Automatic popout handles are a hard no for me, when a regular door handle works fine and is extremely easy to fix if it breaks.

Even manual seat adjustment is fine for me (though I do appreciate memory seats in my wifes car).

Apple hardware is so good, it is always the software that forces an upgrade. I want to drive my car for 10+ years, I like the idea that any computerization is done with my phone/tablet which I upgrade for not much money, every 5 years or so.

The car can provide a wireless or even a wired connection to the phone and an App can control any functions/settings.

As an example my daughter doesnt want the car to unlock when she turns it off. Some people like automatic door locks and some dont. If the car has such a setting, I wouldnt want a car based UI to control it. Using my phone (even wired) would be fine.
