Given it has a telescoping antenna, having it in a cubby might limit reception...I like it and will consider it as my radio solution. Maybe better mounted on the t-rail next to the phone mount. Then when you park, throw it into a cubby.Another area I'm interested in is the dash panel to the left of the steering wheel. Since Slate offers a speaker for that area it's obvious there is space back there and a power connection of some sort.
I'd like to have a small over the air FM radio that could output to Bluetooth for listening to local radio programs that don't get streamed. Eagles games, for example.
Maybe the cover panel can be made easily removable and replaceable such that a small radio could be integrated in there, and then covered by the panel when not in use.
