Preliminary Small Mod Ideas

Hello to all,
I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months and enjoying the contributions of the great membership.
I'm a Jersey boy, and submitted a preorder June 30.

I'm more likely to do modest functional modifications/add-ons, so thought I'd toss a few preliminary (half-baked) ideas into the mix for speculation by any and all, since without a truck in hand it's really not possible to say exactly what can be done, and how, right now.

First up: instead of adding the lower dash accent I'm thinking about putting extra t-rail in that area. T-rail comes in 5 or 6 colors that I've seen so far, so maybe I'll add a "dash" of color in that way (sorry). Possibly even add a 2nd phone holder for the passenger to integrate their phone to the speakers and pick the tunes now and then. (I know, the horror...). But some folks do have wives and GFs who might want to participate.

Or maybe I'll stay boring old me and just install matching black rail.

It could also be used to mount a tablet to the right of the speaker controls, if one has that concern. Of course it would be best for drivers with long arms, I suppose...or again, a participating loved one...

Not sure what other practical or fanciful usage ideas folks might have?
Maybe a dash rail mounted cup holder?
Or a mounted folder for business-on-the-go documents frequently accessed?

A modular rail there seems like a very practical thing.

But the more I think about it, the more I want a ridiculously large glove box behind that entire half of the dashboard.

Another area I'm interested in is the dash panel to the left of the steering wheel. Since Slate offers a speaker for that area it's obvious there is space back there and a power connection of some sort.
I'd like to have a small over the air FM radio that could output to Bluetooth for listening to local radio programs that don't get streamed. Eagles games, for example.
Maybe the cover panel can be made easily removable and replaceable such that a small radio could be integrated in there, and then covered by the panel when not in use.

I found this bluetooth radio that is $50 that has just about every feature I could want.

I would want to mount the tablet higher, but I'm also tall enough that it probably wouldn't block my view much.

i have a console vault in my truck. I would first be looking for a place to install a console vault. I also have a magnetic mounting plate under the dash to secure a pistol out of view, but within easy reach.

I would consider adding a motorized side mirror adjustment. There are standard kits for that as well as automatic windows (which I probably wouldnt get).

Would love to replace the center console with a 3rd seat.

Agreed. A mount with articulating arm that allows placement of the tablet such that it catches the AC vent stream, and also allows the tablet to swing away allowing access to the center compartment is what I'm looking for.

That looks like the quality and stability I'm after. But I would prefer to not bolt to the seat rail or directly into the floor unless I absolutely have to.
Perhaps it can be bolted in some way to the center console close to the dash?

I think that manufacturer has lots of model specific attachment devices. That's just one example. I actually found them looking for t-slot mounts ... and they do have some mounts that attach to t-slots.

Another idea.
In various videos it's been demonstrated how far forward the passenger seat can slide on its double track to provide access to the 2nd row in the SUV configuration.

I wonder if the seat can be locked in that forward position while driving which would yield a bit of additional cargo space in the pickup config.
If so, I plan to cut ABS pegboard to place as a platform in that area behind the seat to carry items I wouldn't want sliding around. I could place pegs or bolts in the pegboard holes as retainers in the general outine of the cargo.
In keeping with my "half-baked ideas" theme, I imagined having to deliver a layer cake without it sliding around in transit.
I don't think the AI image generator fully understood the brilliance of my prompt, but I do think you'll get the idea of keeping small cargo movement to a minimum.

Cupholders on the dash rail is a great idea. Especially for those who are sacrificing the standard cupholders for a DIY bench seat.

I was thinking perhaps a "Marine Stereo Enclosure" installed on the optional T-rail under the heater controls and then some speakers mounted under the dash and/or under/behind the seats.

I'm not so sure the Front Left + Right Integrated Speakers are amplified (require 12v power). Their amplification may come from an amp that's part of the Front Center Integrated Speaker unit.

It's going to be amazing to see all the different things owners and aftermarket companies come up with for this truck. The design and innovations are going to be something to see.
