... I remember back then there was also a company that made a one piece polycarbonate roof/back window that was as close as you could get to a convertible without cutting the door frames.
They were called SuperDome

Lots. Just....lots.
A tilt-up / removable sunroof would be terrific.

The Slate Truck's rear window appears to be removable. Removing both the sunroof and the rear window would create a convertible-ish experience. My family had a 1972 Corvette with T-tops and a removable rear window. Removing the window improved the T-top driving experience more than you might expect.
Honda Del Sol anyone?

I had a pulsar NX. It shared some of the 'modular' concepts the Slate is going for. I kinda miss that car.

Realize you’re looking for a removable roof over the cab, but I’m at least stoked the square-back has a removable roof. Any word if the fastback will have it?

I was thinking you could just cut a hole in the headliner and unbolt the roof panel. Boom removable roof! Lol

I haven't seen any pictures of the fastback with a removable panel, besides the entire rear cover.

They got back to me on social--fastback won't have a panel the way the squareback will (which I saw a video that also said the windows will be too 🤞).

They suggested I just get the open air kit (OAK). I'm under the impression that the OAK is only the roll-bar that's under both roof types (read, there's only one roll-bar, not two SKUs for one OAK and another enclosed).

They've shown the doors to be (relatively easily?) removable. What remains to be seen is whether the fastback would be something popped on/of. My guess is no from a safety/road noise perspective.

I think the top can be unbolted, but not as easily removed as a regular shell on a pickup. I think our pickup is only clamped on by 4 or 6 clamps. The fastback top would be removable.

It rains too often here to get the open version only. I had thought about getting only the top and no rear seats. I think they call it the cargo version. I wouldn’t even want the roll bar.
