We don't really know though if that rollbar is an integral part of the cargo kit. On the SUV kits, it looks to make up the framework that the flat panels that the sides and roof attach to. It might be possible that the cargo kit doesn't need it, or uses a lighter frame without airbags in it.
What we've seen appears to just be an SUV kit with the windows wrapped. The final version might just have solid side panels without window shapes.

Let me reach out to the rep who answered my question back in August and see if there's any update.

Edit with reply from Yolanda:

"Thank you for your message and congratulations on reserving your Slate!

Your conversions sound fun!

As we get closer to production in 2026 we will confirm the exact details of the accessories and SUV kits - the basic differences between the SUV kit and cargo are similar to what you described - stay tuned for the details to be confirmed soon - we're excited!

Let us know if you have more questions - we're happy to help!"

In my inquiry I described the SUV kit to include windows, insulation and etc, and the cargo kit to have none of that. My focus was on the shell.

Thanks, but… Maybe helpful if you posted the actual question being answered? Of course guessing is always fun and allows more interpretation of answer. Then again, if that was your actual wording, not very specific IMHO. Many of us are focused on seats And rollbar in SUV, windows in the Cargo variant.

The agents are in a tough position.

For now, at least for the questions I have, they need to respond with this pattern:

That's a great question!
We don't have information to disclose yet.
We'll have more details closer to production as we finalize specs.

Sorry my question wasn't very specific as I only wanted a shell. 🤦 As a temporary sleeping quarter for me and two dogs, two windows in the back are enough. I can insulate the floor and walls myself.

Thank you. Apologies if appear a bit harsh, but your focus a bit different than most of us looking to pamper our dogs, hence more confusing than enlightening.

Still harsh but no worries! 😁 It was complicated to block the heat in the Suburban. The glass gets very hot even when covered under 90% Aluminet shade. Had to add a sheet of welding felt inside. Looking at all the coverup to the rear windows, I realized that I don't need them.

Repairpal doesn't seem to have an app anymore.
It's just a website.
Is this likely to change?
I feel like I'm missing something.

RepairPal is the service that certifies shops. The app that Slate owners will use to get service from those shops will be Slate's own app that isn't out yet.

I avoid dealerships and rely mainly on small indie shops (2 lifts max) and DIY (sometimes at a lift rental place with tech help). Looked up Repairpal after the session and found quite a few in my area under the name Stree-Free Auto Care. They seem to be of medium size with 4+ lifts/bays.
