I’m curious as to whether or not the Slate will make for a good off road camping platform in the larger battery/Cargo Kit configuration. Even with a lift and AT tires, I don’t think it will be able to negotiate anything more technical than a fire road, but with the motor in back, RWD, and the De Dion rear axle, it should have pretty good traction. I'm actually looking more at that 1400+ pound load rating for adding camping gear and furniture: fridge with slide, outdoor kitchen drawer, sleeping cot, water tank(s), power station (or just inverter). Maybe a lightweight RTT for the roof. The best solution would be furniture that is modular and easily removeable...you don't want to drag around extra weight when you don't need it.

it has been done before. Small truck and light weight shell. Sure. Range extended will need be added. I hope a second battery can be plugged in for longer ranges.

If I can turn my FJ into a camper, I can do the same with a Slate Cargo. The key difference is that with the Slate, sliding furniture modules into and out of the truck bed is way easier than dealing with the interior configuration of the FJ. www.EigerOverland.com

LOL. This isn't exactly what I have in mind, but anything is possible.

I think the weight and towing capacity might limit those capabilities. That's odd though because I use to tow an 18' boat with my 91 Toyota with all of 105 hp.

With 201 hp, why would the Slate be limited to towing 1000 lbs?

Good question. I wonder if that’s in addition to full load in the bed. No load in the bed and it should safely tow 2400 pounds?

Hopefully these numbers will improve when they finish stress testing it. I would at least like to tow my John Deere mower in for service but even a small trailer can exceed 1000 lbs
