Those potential rebates vary a lot by state, and even locally. Some cities, counties, and even utilities may offer some rebates, so everyone needs to check into what is available for them.
I am not seeing that the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit was cancelled so far, with that credit, if you are in a non-urban or low income census tract, you may be able to get a 30% tax credit based on purchase and installation of a charger.
