Cybertruck is currently 90% North American Parts.
Where did you get this information? Curious why Tesla wouldn't be touting it as the most American-made truck is this is true.

I’m pretty red and have 3 EVs and 1 Hybrid. Love em. Never going back!
I'm middle of the road, just speaking from experience living here in Warsaw, lol. I have family members that are pretty hardcore red who used to make fun of me for it, lol. After a ride in mine they now own a Tesla. šŸ˜‚Once people actually experience an EV their tune changes - but only after they experience it.

I also have 3 EVs if I count my Scag EVZ zero turn. šŸ˜‚

Google. So as true as anything else in Google.
most listings will show 65% US and Canada. Mexico adds 25% so 90% total North American parts.

Yep. I have always been red but bought my first EV in 2017, a Chevy Bolt.
Traveling in 2017 with a non Tesla was a pain so 2019 the Bolt Became a Tesla Model 3. 2024 added a Model Y, 2023 was my wife’s Hybrid Maverick.
the Slate will be just because it’s cool.

Funny the perception that red = anti EV, no, more accurate might be red = anti EV mandate, very different. I also would not label myself as Green, but I’ve been living totally off grid 20 years, truly offgrid, not the grid tied make believes, that tout their greenness.

I agree, but if you are on this forum you are not off grid.

Wow, never heard that one before. Not talking about the lost in the wild, no contact off grid, isolation, just no wired/hard connected services like electric, water, sewer, phone, cable, etc. trust me, if you were to research we would be termed off grid.

sorry. I wasnt calling you Ted but I would call that more ā€œunpluggedā€œ than off grid. Off grid to me means can’t be found on a grid map of the earth and Don’t want to be found.
blackspots76 clarified it.

Actually, Tesla does tout the American-made status of their vehicles (including the Cybertruck). And it's a fair claim -- all Teslas sold in the US are assembled in either California or Texas, and they contain a very high percentage of American-made parts.

However, Tesla doesn't believe in traditional advertising -- so they don't do any touting on TV, radio, or most Internet sites. For some unknown reason, however, Tesla does believe in advertising on X (Twitter). So that's where you have to look. If you aren't following Tesla on X, you'll miss the touting.

But for the record, at the global level, most Teslas are made in Shanghai or Berlin. It's true that US and Canadian markets are supplied exclusively by the California and Texas plants, but most Tesla sales are in Asia and Europe; the overseas markets are primarily supplied by the Shanghai or Berlin plants. Only small numbers of American-made Teslas (Models S and X) are exported overseas.

I just hope they’re not doing this to skimp on quality material and comfort. A poor seat design will have BIG negative effects on its adoption.

How is being grid-tied solar "make believe"?

If you're off grid solar you're just using what you need and wasting the rest, unless you have a MASSIVE battery bank. If you're grid-tied solar you're selling back which means your extra energy generated is being used by others before energy generated by fossil fuels. One could argue that a person is MORE "green" by being grid-tied because of this. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

There's really no need to start an "I'm more green than you" argument here. We're all doing our part to make the world a healthier place and our air easier to breathe by purchasing EVs, whether one cares about their carbon footprint or not.
