Lawn Tool Fit Check

Hmmm. A gasoline mower and a gas tank? Those of us who now embrace all the benefits of electric vehicles with zero emissions and maintenance are still filling up mowers with gasoline? A classic paradox.

trust me I own a landscaping company electric weedeater is good electric blowers are meh vs the gas competition but for around the house something real quick they work and the mowers are not really durable for day to day commercial use I haven’t tried the riding electric ones yet but I bet walker would have them beat and electric hedge trimmer can not put out the torque needed to cut the thicker branches if you know you know on that one

I'm still rocking a riding lawnmower from like 2003. No way I'm buying an electric one anytime soon. Most use standard battery packs (Ego, Greenworks, Ryobi, etc) and I'm just not confident in their battery longevity for an application like this.

I own Ego hedge trimmers, weed whackers, leaf blower, etc. But for $3000 + cost of their largest batteries, I'd rather just go get a gallon of gas every 6 months and keep running the one I've got.

These are obviously homeowner grade tools, not for commercial landscapers. So most electric mowers like Ryobi and Ego would be perfectly adequate on a small yard. I will agree gas riding mowers have way more power!

They forgot the battery pack for the weedeater. But the truck has enough range for them to come back and get it.

My last 2 houses I took care of about 1.5 acres, with longer driveways that needed snow removal. Loved my diesel Deere! (now I live in a condo and I don't miss taking care of the yard, but I do miss plowing snow) Now that I'm in LA my chances of caring for that much land are probably lower than my chances of plowing snow!

Have 3 acres and Stihl battery chainsaw, hedge trimmer, weed whip and blower. All have been surprisingly durable and used often except for the most gnarly thick tall stuff. Really lumpy grounds to mow and I've yet to see an electric zero turn built tough enough to take the beating but I'll bet they are coming. It is true however that repair shops can rebuild about any gas powered tool but just shrug and say "nope" on electric products at this time. Just like your local auto mechanic and EV's. Those of you in larger cities...do you see ANY independent EV service shops yet?

I haven't noticed any, but I'm only 1 year into EV ownership and other than a recall, haven't needed any service.

My Ego electric mower has been going strong for almost 10 years now, and the original battery lasted 7 years before it needed a replacement. I've now got a garage full of their stuff, including a snow blower I picked up last winter. I could never ever go back to gas equipment, and especially stuff that needed gas/oil mixtures. You all can keep your noisy, stinky, greasy tools! 😆
