Another use case could be if it was tall enough to be the same height as 2x4s laid transversely across the bed above the wheel wells then it would be another support point for 4x8 sheets of plywood. I think that the Maverick’s solution is the simplest with a 45 degree position of the tailgate.

My concern in any open close parts is the water leaks or wind leaks.!!! Simple than that.!!!

I didn't do the CFD on this feature, but it's pretty cool.

That is pretty rad. I think I'll spring for the Expansion Speakers that mount on the rail along the bed, but that's a badass tailgate. Way too high tech for the Slate Truck though!

Sounds like a job for marine speakers and an amp from Crutchfield...

Tailgates up actually creates a pocket of air that makes less drag. Mythbusters did an episode on that
