As non-EV owner, I do not understand how it would be different than pulling up to a gas pump?

The compatibility with Tesla’s supercharger NACS network is virtually guaranteed. While ‘Slate’ is not yet listed, I bet I could charge it today using “other.”

However if you want to pay lower Tesla rates, you need to sign up for the $12.99 monthly membership fee. Fisker, Lucid, Rivian, Vinfast, as well as all domestic manufacturers are listed in Tesla’s charging app.

Yes, I already pay the $12.99 monthly for the member rate as I charge so often at Superchargers for my Ford EV.

I hope I can extend the discount to the Slate....

According to Tesla website: Note: Supercharging Memberships allow you to use the benefits on all EVs you own. You do not need to purchase a membership for each vehicle.

My work just installed a fleet of NACS chargers that charge at $.05 kw/hr. The downside is they are very strict on parking and will charge out the ears if you leave your car 'fully charged' for longer than an hour. Which is great for a factory where I can't just get up and leave at random lol

I was reading that part of the reason New Jersey was removing Tesla superchargers from their turnpike was that they wanted them to be usable without a dedicated app. I'm not against using a Tesla app for charging, but then again it's no different than me using the QT app for discount gas.
