No personal offense intended. Discovering the launch the morning after was such a high. Now the drip drip of little new information and the long wait to get production vehicles is getting to my short attention span.

I also hope I get bored of my new Slate quickly and run out of things to do other than just wash it. I have owned older high mileage ICE vehicles my whole life. They require so much maintenance and repairs. I’m not sure what I am going to do with my first new vehicle. Especially an EV.

I’m just happy I will be able to add some accessories, wrap, and probably convert it to an SUV myself.

Hopefull and excited. Just having a moment of impatience.

This is probably going to be the slowest time of the Slate timeline. They're still finalizing the prototype and anything they show isn't gonna be the final result so they can't reveal too much. In a few months from now once they get it 100% figured out, I bet we'll start seeing Slate University posts, more in-depth specs and details, and much more. Just one of the downsides of being the earliest of early adopters!

True I keep looking everyday for something but now that the tours are on break it’s going to be really slow. I hope in October since it will be a year away from the fourth quarter launch they do something, but that’s being optimistic. I’d like a count down on the website and have more accessories added over time even. Doing the math they could do 8.33- a month to keep interest every month it could be something new every month to add you know and in 6 months from the start of year start to release the pricing. At least that’s how I’d do it being such a big time gap.

How I endure.
1.) Take the $$$ for my Slate and put it in a CD, use the few bucks I make for a wrap, etc.
2.) Get my old car ready for sale, use the $$$ for extra goodies.
3.) Play with the maker...again.
Sigh, yes, I went through the same thing with my Model 3 waiting for production to ramp up. The next year will be make or break time for them. So far the one that came the closest was Arcimoto from the post Tesla startups. The CEO made some very bad decisions in his personal and corporate life.
I am waiting to see how much changes from the beta version to the production model...main interest will be power access points, both DC and AC. Final seat styles and comfort. Changes to the bed, secure points, pass thru, rear window options. When I measured the beta bed, I was pleased I could use the tool box I already have.

You nailed it! I think what we’re all experiencing is the reality of the ā€œownership lifecycleā€- excitement, research, planning, waiting, anticipation, and finally taking delivery. Year(s) of impatiently waiting, second guessing, comparing, and evaluating our decisions.

And suddenly Slate advises your reservation is called, order generated, and you take delivery. And it’s all over in a few days, and sometimes ā€˜anticlimactic’ to an extent.

Hopefully ā€œbuyers remorseā€ doesn’t spoil what should be a pleasant experience. Stay positive!

I think we are losing the initial sales momentum. Initial excitement was high, we were all thrilled at the new concept, but as time goes by, nothing really new is happening, and the thrill is waning.

They are rolling out information probably as fast as they can. Last week the progress on the factory, which looks like it has a long way to go, but at least they show something is happening. I would like for them to show more structural pictures or drawings of the chassis, frame, batteries, drivetrain, etc. They probably don't want to release any of that though.

Well if things get too quiet, we could start a heated debate about proper pizza toppings.
-- and no, pineapple is not a proper pizza topping.

If you're not a Bronco 6th generation fan, you should peek at their forum to understand the "magic" of what a good pizza war can do for press releases. Hopefully, the following link brings you there.

There are lots of people who waited two and three years for the Maverick. Join the club.

It won't be boring. The next year will probably be highly populated with reveals of several small BEV vehicles. Heck, the Munich show is going on right now. New reveals from BMW, Mercedes, VW. Awesome stuff, including affordable small BEVs.

Then there is the eventual Ford reveal, certainly sometime in the next year. Then there are all the reveals we don't know about. And then there is the black swan, the vehicle like the Maverick that just appears out of nowhere and is a hit.

So not bored at all here. But then, I'm not married to Slate. Interested and intrigued and holding an order, yes. Married, no. My eyes are free to look around.

Scooter, you are a lecherous old (automobile) man. No need to hide your wandering eyes. We keep it real.

This is definitely part of the fun for me too. Between the R3, the ID.GTI, Slate, and whatever else small & fun pops up, I'm interested, even if I do end up ultimately going with the Slate. It'll be nice to see a wider variety of EVs on the market

I called them the other day to ask what the next plans are, seems like they have some big announcements planned to come out over the next couple weeks. The guy said their roadshow is set to start up again in October, but they're probably taking another break for holidays and EOY

My guess is that it's going to be harder once vehicles start rolling off the assembly line waiting for my number to be called.

One thing I've noticed. I signed up to get announcement via email and so far I've gotten nothing. I'd love it if they at least sent me an email saying what new bits are in the maker or something...

And I've already said elsewhere. They really need to put a camera in the factory with a live feed...
