They are already talking about gen 2 and gen 3 of the slate, I would be surprised if they don't keep and outgoing model around for a discount. Let's say they announce gen 2, I could see the Gen 1 stick around for months to a year at like 15-18k
If they've got the line capability for two versions I could see them doing that. Automakers before have kept old models around purely for fleet or customer demand, even when the new model is already out.

Chevrolet kept the outgoing Malibu as the "Malibu Classic" as it was a rental car fleet dream despite the new generation of the same name being sold along side it and Ford kept the Aerostar a few years longer than planned post-Windstar due to customer demand.

The Ram Classic is a hilarious example, the 4th gen ram stayed around all the way up until a few months before the 6th gen hit dealers. Lasted the entire 5th gen cycle lol

IN ALL OF MY HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS VENTURES, MY BASIC RULE HAS BEEN: VOLUME, VOLUME, VOLUME, — LOWER THE PRICE, LOWER THE PRICE, LOWER THE PRICE!

MY SUGGESTION TO SLATE AUTOMOTIVE IS PUT IT OUT THERE AT $19K AND $24K TO FLOOD THE MARKET.

THEY HAVE ABOUT 200,000 PEOPLE ON THE LIST NOW, BY THE TIME THE PRICE ACTUALLY IS IDENTIFIED, COULD BE MORE.

Are they? I don't think they are. I mean, I grant that reporters have asked them about future vehicles, but they have made no sort of announcement other than a "hopefully" sort of thing.

In the munro live video when looking at the frunk he starts talking about their gen 2 and gen 3 of the truck, looking into the possibility of a heat pump in the future and more

The shipping of parts has been crazy expensive the last few weeks. So they will most likely have a list of reasons the price is higher then they had set as goal when they started.

The parts are made in the US, almost all in the midwest…

And shippers including the USPS have added charges due to fuel costs.
Parts on large scales aren’t going through USPS or any normal carrier for the short distance. It’s going on smaller local carriers or in house delivery

And they all have to pay more for the fuel to do their job.
