What are peoples' predictions about the used market? Assuming Slate as a company survives and doesn't turn into a Fisker type situation.

One debate I have is, buy right away or wait 3-5 years and hope to find one for $15k or less.
Good question. If I may add a twist. What about buying it now and immediately putting it up for sale. What do you think you'd get for it that way? (I'm very tall and if I don't fit in it, I think about this option).

It seems that Slate plans to be releasing trucks in numbers high enough that there may not be too much gain from immediately reselling.
On height, just how tall is very tall? One of the team members at Slate is 6'7" I think they said, and has been in one of the videos showing he fit.

A lot of reason to be optimistic, especially compared to other EVs - they usually have a bunch of tech that starts looking "outdated" fast, and now the Slate has LFP batteries that are supposed to last longer, even without some 80-20 buffer habit.

All dependent on unknowns like Slate's success as a company, of course.

I would imagine it’s like any vehicle. The first few will be sought after and there will be the depreciation values to ensue. And probably after 3-5 years they will be at the range of your estimate.

I don’t sell or trade in vehicles. I’ll drive my Slate until the wheels fall off, then park it in the shed and tell my grandson, “It ran when I parked it.”
I feel like we are related somehow...

pretty much all EVs depreciate very fast. 30-40% after two years. So a 25K slate will probably be 15K

People comparing new slates to used f150 lightnings or whatever are ridiculous. Compare the used slate to the used lightning.

The new slate isnt that cheap, but a 2 year old one will be.
Would be interesting to see if that's still true now that the EV tax credit is gone.

I'd love to buy a Slate now, but my current financial situation forces me to wait. I'll be watching the used market very closely for sure.
