What is Slate competing with for YOUR money?

Except Slate has built around 70 initial Slate trucks and crashed more than half to see how well they do. Slate is also running around the country giving the public a view of the Slate truck. Slate has also invested in a truck building plant in Warsaw, Indiana. Slate is said to have hired 400 or more people to build their trucks. Slate is said to have 100K reservations. Slate has raised a total of $700 million in funding. Seems to me that Slate is moving along nicely.

I agree it’s moving along! At-scale manufacturing is much different from prototyping and marketing. I’m cautiously optimistic.

Now that the EX30 is made in Belgium, and the CEO says they're going to drop the price down to the originally intended price, I expect used EX30s to plummet in value. This may just pop up on my radar as well, if Volvo can figure out their software shitshow.

My buddy just bought one for his wife and loves it. I asked if it was a fad...he just dropped $750 to put a 7-yr ceramic coating on it, so I'd say that they plan to keep it!
