What I did was make a spreadsheet of trips greater than the standard milage and determined cost of those trips (potential savings if EV) that gave me a ballpark # as to MY value of the extended battery. So for me, if extended battery is $2500 or more, than likely No.This will be my first EV, so convince me I don't need the larger battery. Most of my driving is less than 60 miles round trip.
If you keep the battery between 20% and 80% that is 60% of the total battery or with a battery of 150 miles, gives 90 miles. The question becomes how much battery will you have in the winter. I expect you would have around 60 miles of the original 90 miles. So you would have enough battery, barely. A quote on the addition of the larger battery is $5,000.This will be my first EV, so convince me I don't need the larger battery. Most of my driving is less than 60 miles round trip.
The only thing that has me on the fence is the battery loses capacity over time and you charge from 20-80%This will be my first EV, so convince me I don't need the larger battery. Most of my driving is less than 60 miles round trip.
