So now there is no extended range battery. No power window option. The build site is cumbersome. My time is some time in 2027. So it looks as if I am going to wait for the second gen or go with the ford unfortunately I have to do something cause the transmission went out on the wife’s jeep

I'm ecstatic. Medium range battery of 205 miles at a price point we thought was for 150 mile range. I don't want power windows and the build site only needs to be used once. I lived with 150 mile range battery for 4 years and it was a non-issue except it wasn't practical for a road trip.(It was CHADEMO so tough to find chargers on the road) 205 miles with NACS can be road tripped reasonably well when necessary. For instance, if I want to go to Hilton Head Island(~320 miles) it is 1 charging stop same as it is in my Tesla with 359 miles of range.

I wouldn't say I'm disappointed but I'm not as excited as I hoped, either. Some things are cheaper than I expected, some are more expensive. I pulled my $50 back but that doesn't mean I won't keep an eye on Slate. Once all the pricing has been released, I might place an order.

Little disappointed in the SUV cost, but pleased otherwise. Easily remedied if the cargo variant price comes out to be a solid deal.

I am disappointed with how the pre-order was run. There was never a definitive TIME published to login and order. There was a rumored 12:30 Eastern. As one of the first RESERVATIONS, and because I am in Mountain Time Zone, I am sitting on a COMING SOON delivery window now because I did it at 8 Mountain instead of setting an alarm for 6am MT / 8am ET. 🤬

Not disappointed just because I never had particularly high expectations for Slate. They're not Hogwart's Wizards. There's only so much an undercapitalized startup can deliver for $25,000.

I'd say I'm fascinated to watch this auto industry experiment move forward... From a safe distance. I'm actually kind of pleasantly surprised at the base Slate. Not gonna buy one anytime soon, but I think they made a solid offering to a certain customer set.

Makes me wonder about queue compression. Not everyone that reserved will convert to a pre-order. So these delivery buckets are probably at best 20% full.

I haven't decided yet on placing a pre order yet. I was hoping the Ford EV would have photos or a prototype to show off to the public. I only planned on getting the truck with power windows and extended range but as seeing neither is an option at this time is a bummer but I am happy they increased the standard range overall and switched to lfp batteries. Decisions decisions

Consider getting a lease on a vehicle if the terms are acceptable to you. Then go for your Slate. In the long run that might be a better financial option.

Totally agree but if a Slate is what you really need and want then a leasing option as a stopgap might make more sense than sinking a lot more money long term into a vehicle that doesn’t match what you’re looking for.

My only disappointment has been the lack of the cargo variant details and its pricing.

They've handled the rollout today incredibly well so I'm still hopeful.

I'd love the SUV kit to be cheaper too. I do understand, though, that a structural roll cage with airbags is a big cost, the topper itself is not going to come cheap, and neither are the seats. Plus all the other little things that come with it, like arm rests, etc.
If I pull the trigger, it will likely be on the truck and a couple small accessories, and buy the SUV kit later.
