Well, if we're going retro with roll-up windows... so maybe Slate will drive the wipers with an electric vacuum pump. ;)
And one that gets worse whenever you accelerate, no doubt, with adaptive AI assist to give it that authentic analog feel. We're getting into seriously deep Rube Goldberg territory here . . .

If we're going full retro, give me a fender/kick panel vent like 60's pickups. Loved those things.

Fresh air vents would be nice, shoot, with no hot ICE engine in the front they could easily do a fresh-air vent like older cars had that was an extra duct straight from the front of the truck into the dashboard!

LOL, or, a hand-driven vacuum pump (handle on the dash) to store vacuum in a big 'ole vacuum tank.
No, vacuums are un-natural.
Just a dash mounted lever with a direct connect to the wiper. I think the Cushman's at the state park ranger job had that.

And did I mention the Rambler that my sister had? Foot pedal to pump the WW fluid? Those were the days.

I would love to do that.
Unfortunately, nobody (including dealerships) in New Hampshire or Massachusetts sells those rubber refills anymore. It's been that way for 12 or more years.
Yes, the counter guy at the parts store mentioned those. I remember trying to squeeze them down (longways) fighting to get them into slot. He didn't suggest they were still available. I'll have to check into that.

My '14 Ford Focus wipers lasted at least five years. Didn't seem quite right for planned obsolescence. Maybe they figured the transmission was enough of a FU.

Hmmm, I bought some VW TDI parts several years ago, they gave me a free sample of WW fluid concentrate (from Germany?). It was like a pint, that turned into about 5 gallons of fluid. High quality stuff. Then they never had it again when I tried to buy some.

Ope! Thinking of a new business: CAB's Slate Parts store. Must resist!
