Is Slate the name of the truck or the name of the company building it?

For example Rivian is the name of the company and they build the R1T and the R1S. Their next vehicle is going to be called the R2. Tesla builds the Cybertruck (not a fan, but whatever). Is the Slate the name of the vehicle or the name of the company? If it is the company then what is the truck called? "Blank?" What will the next vehicle be called? Do we need to think of a name for this truck? Or do we need to name the company?

I like to think of it like The Truck, by Slate. Still not as bad as Chrysler buying AMC, making Eagle, and then running out the last year of wagon productions as the Eagle Eagle.

In my estimation Slate is taking the Toyota approach. Slate is the manufacturer. Truck is the model. Recall that it wasn’t until the advent of the T100(Tundra predecessor) that Toyota slapped the Tacoma name on their compact truck. Prior to that point it was just Toyota Truck. I think the same is true with Nissan. The American manufacturers had different model designations since they had multiple offerings.(1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton plus the compact model)

I think it's similar to the Polestar 2, funnily enough. If you look at the registration for one of those cars, it says:

Make: Polestar
Model: Polestar 2

So it's technically the Polestar Polestar 2.

Similarly, the Slate Truck could "technically" be the Slate Slate Truck when registered. Too much fun lol

The company name is actually Slate Auto so it would be Slate Auto - Truck, wouldn’t it?

not a slate ... yet!
My first vehicle was a 1981 AMC Eagle. 4X4 two-door, poop brown with wood trim accents — an absolute tank, for a 2.5L four cylinder, at least!

T100 was a different beast entirely.

Toyota's original small pickup was called the Stout in the 1960s.

Hilux (global name) was '68-'95 between the Stout and Tacoma.

Sold as Hilux originally in 1968.
Sold as Truck from 1973 to 1976.
Then it was Pickup for almost two decades until 1995.

Yeah, I remember watching a video that referred to it as “the as yet unnamed…”

It seemed odd to me. Like, you’re expecting a name? Why?

It’s the Slate Truck. That’s it.

My configuration won't really be a "truck", it will be the SUV version. But by definition it's still a truck, just with the optional SUV kit. So I guess it will be the "Slate Auto Slate Truck with SUV Kit"

A truck is a motor vehicle designed to transport goods. When you add the SUV kit it's no longer a truck because you're converting it to a motor vehicle that's designed for transporting passengers.

The Slate is a Coupe Utility Vehicle (CUV).
What I was referring to was Slate Auto's definition. There's only one model of the Slate vehicle, and it's a truck. That's what we'll all be ordering--A blank Slate Truck. From there we'll add option kits and other accessories to the truck.
