Release Day! What pleasantly surprised you. What mildly disappointed you?

I'm pretty stoked about most things. The range and price work well for me. The pricing of the accessories was better than I expected (especially the hitch receiver).

I was a little disappointed that some items were still missing prices (lift kit) and some were just missing.

I also wish they had better descriptions on their accessories.For instance, I'm still not sure if the upgraded bumpers are just cosmetic with additional access points or if they provide better protection. And some of the other items are missing specifications that would be helpful in making a decision on if it's worth it.

Also bummed I still don't have my delivery window. I'd rather have a wide, conservative window that gets narrowed as things get more defined. (I guess technically my window is sometime in 2027).

Finally, I'm really ticked that there isn't free same day Prime delivery.

The fact that the power window kit isn't listed has me wondering if they're going to have a final surprise for us and power windows are going to be standard.

I don't think there's any shot of this happening. I think they had to go back to the drawing board for power windows, so they're pulling it from the accessory lineup for now

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how things are shaping up. I'll gladly take more range for the same price. I was never in the SUV camp, so not affected by those prices being a tad higher than expected. Pre-order process was exactly what they said it would be, and we seem to be right on track with the timeline they set out over a year ago.

The only minor gripe I have is the total revamp of the wrap colors. Names are all different, and since we really can't judge actual color from on-screen approximations, I feel like this is going to be a crap shoot trying to know what the final colors are going to actually look like. Unless we can get swatch books from Slate, I'll probably hold off entirely on wraps until I can see something physical in person.

What are you towing/hauling that would need class 3 instead of 2?

Class 3 means a 2" receiver as opposed to a 1 1/4" receiver.

Both are available in 3500 lbs capacities, but all my existing stingers are 2", as is my bike rack.

It's just the standard dimension.

If you have a 1 1/4" accessory or stinger you want to connect, you can get a reducing sleeve, but if you want to go up from 1 1/4" to 2" you'd need an unsightly extension that increases moment loads dramatically:

If you want to monitor the truck without a hardwire connection, yes. That's for people who want to be able to start their truck from 3 miles away (actually from more than about 30 feet away.) Or see the state of charge without having to get in the truck.

Of course, they didn't bother spell out what the "terms and conditions" are.

That's what I'm referring to. My reasoning, as I've mentioned previously, is that engineering a crank window that's designed to converted to power is absolutely going to cost more than just doing power windows standard. So that's why there is no power window accessory. And this way they can keep pretending it has crank windows as journalist bait.

Not what I asked. I'm curious why the person I replied to is only in if it is class 3 when class 2 already meets the Slate's towing requirements.

I'd bet it is class 3 anyway, but just curious.
