With the dust settling, has anyone seen where or if there are 12v (cigarette lighter) outlets? Or maybe USB-C? I file these missing details under "mild disappointment." I haven't seen all the videos, of the ones I did see, I didn't spy any. And drive-arounds had that dash cover so they could hide the sins of prototypes.

In one of the videos there was mention of a usb c port in the dash, under the flip up door.

I remember reading something saying there are two 12v ports. One in the cab/dash and the second is in the trunk, which sounds perfect. It would be ideal for using a 12v air pump for blowing up tubes for the river.

In the Redline Reviews video, 13:05. Shows two USB-C ports in the dash behind the phone cradle.(one looks like charge only, the other charge+data?). Then between the two larger dash panels is a 12v.

This pic was posted to Reddit of the armrest add-on that adds another two USB-C and 12v, plus air vents, for the people in the 2nd row SUV config.

Yes, I will be for sure pulling our Kayaks and Tubes with the Slate, so a 12V plug in the frunk is nice!

They also have 2 USB C ports.

Thanks! I haven't watched that video next. Time to put it on my queue when I have time.

And interestingly, it will hide the ones behind it, and maybe the traditional lighter port style. I will guess that the DYI installation simply uses those ports for power this thing. So for me, time to pump the regen coil on getting this accessory. I'm not slamming on the brake though. They may still be usable in a hidden way to power a dashcam, for example. But Slate is not giving details yet, like just about everything else.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this (and the L/R speakers) will be powered. If they use those "hidden" USBs or if there is a separate power line for these "built-in" accessories.

The speaker and this cover plate are two distinct components, and I believe they can be installed independently. This cover plate is probably just a bluetooth controller for your phone, just like the steering wheel mounted option, and will work with any bluetooth speaker, including the in-dash option.

It's possible that they can get daisy-chained together. IE, the center speaker plugs in to the truck for power, but has two power-out USB-C ports to chain to the left/right speakers if those are added later.

Ahh, I didn't think about them being separate components. I'm getting the center speaker and in my head that also means I'm getting the cover plate. But I could see folks getting either-or.

Yeah, this is where my brain was headed as well. Daisy-chaining makes sense.

I think you have to buy the center speaker to get the two side speakers you can get the center without the others but not the other way around.

I'd much rather just have the side speakers, I want all that dash storage!
