I've experienced Buc-ees, and I can understand why some people like it, but it feels like an oddly religious monument to gas stations and big truck Texas culture. Kind of antithetical to Slate.

I'd rather pull up to a charger at a roadside park, wander down an unfamiliar a hiking trail into the woods, and spend a few minutes on a bench looking over a lake: that feels more Slate to me than 120 gas pumps and a giant-sized bag of beaver nuggets.

Clean bathrooms are nice though, I'll admit the park outhouse is strictly inferior there.

This is basically what the Rivian Adventure Network was supposed to be

But them beaver nugs are good!

Joking aside, Buc-ees has some good food though, and its a nice place to stretch. On the downside... if it is busy it is a nightmare.
