Recently Google has added EV support to maps in Android Auto. It gives estimated state of charge on arrival and such in real time via telemetry obtained from the vehicles, also adds charge stops. I do think it does a better route planning job than native Ford navigation but that is not saying much.

I assume Slate will have this integration from the get go? Took Ford and Google 3 years to get it together.

Interesting question. If I'm Google, I want more people using my apps and will try and make it seamless for that to happen. They make their software extensible. It probably took Ford three years to make a decision to support Google Maps after realizing that Google wasn't going to pay them. I'm sure Apple will feel the pressure and eventually do the same for their maps app. Slate should absolutely take advantage.
