Is there enough cab width for that?
Judging by the center piece I’d say we have maybe a good 8-10 inches so it would be a narrow arm rest but that’s just by looks could be a foot wide for all I know and that would be plenty I thinks

Hi David,
Thanks so much for your thoughtful suggestion and for your interest in how Slate’s modular design might support a front bench seat configuration.
At this time, we don’t have plans to offer a front bench seat or a fold-down center console option. While we’re always exploring ways to expand functionality and flexibility, our current interior layout is focused on optimizing safety, comfort, and usability with individual front seats.
We truly appreciate your input it’s ideas like yours that help shape the future of Slate.

Cheers,

The back seat has wheel wells and a rollbar to deal with.
Oh I was saying their should be more room in the front vs the rear, so if the rear can be 3 wide the front can be. Maybe I misunderstood your previous message.

Honda sold a center console / armrest for the Fits that slotted into two of the cupholders and you screwed it into place. I could see the aftermarket doing the same, especially given the room in the rear of the seats for mounting it back there.

They are currently doing demo in the production facility, and will be pouring concrete in some areas to make a stronger foundation where it is needed for the equipment.
I think the current "crash test articles" would be basically iterations of prototypes, testing different builds to see which fare best. Definitely stuff they have to do before locking down the build, and not the same as the NHTSA crash tests that will happen later with the final design.
I wouldn't be sure the prototypes they've shown so far even had things like airbags, if they were test builds trailered to the locations they were shown.
