Has anyone seen photos of the bed with tiedown locations? I've watched a handful of reviews and looked in the configurator and it doesn't seem like there's a good place to strap anything down. I will mostly will be using the bed to haul metal and motorcycles, so I want some tiedown spots.

My plan for metal is to strap it to the towers, but I need to tie things down. Hopefully I just missed it and do not need to purchase the "structural floor" option. I'm going to get the t rails, but that isn't a good strap "down" location like you want for motorcycles.

It looks like I could tie down to the circled area, but I really want something in the bed floor. I'm sure I could mod it to work though...

Lots of T-Rail and Molle stuff in the Utilities section of the Maker. Otherwise, no idea. The area you have circled I can see myself stringing some 2x6s across the bed so my sheet lumber can lie flat on top of them.

Yeah I saw that. I’m just curious how much load they can take. Typically you want motorcycle straps to be at a 45° angle, and I’m not sure if I can get that with the t rails. I think I can come up with something.

Eventually I’m going to get a small aluminum trailer for my bikes. Right now I’ve just got an old pull behind camper trailer I cannibalized, but that thing is extremely overbuilt and probably weighs 1000 lb by itself. It pulls alright behind a sedan, but decimates fuel economy. I wouldn’t want to kill my range too much.

Every mounting point for the t-rail, SUV kit, or Molle grids is a potential place you can slap in an eye-bolt.
Yeah but they seem pretty high. I could also be eyeballing this wrong as typically I’ll throw my motorcycles in the bed of my buddy’s F350, so my eyeball tape measure is probably wrong.

All 8 of these I believe are mounting points directly to the frame, used in the roll-cage install. There are probably others scattered around.

Sweet. Would make a good mounting point.

I plan on getting the towers, which I imagine install there, but that means I can likely make a lifter plate or something that has some D rings threaded in. Or I can just take the towers off for the handful of times a year I need to haul bikes.

Thanks!

The towers actually go on t-rail that mount atop the bed shoulder. In any case, there should be plenty of options for different mounting arrangements, and the Slate system will be much more configurable then relying on the couple of anchor points that come in most truck beds.

The towers attach on rails across the top of the bed. I included a tower on my build and had to also get the rails.

*EDIT: Oop, my bad for double-posting; I thought we had to include this screenshot with our response. :(

Took this at fort worth event. Not seeing anything. Might be an older prototype.

Nice shot of how those rails are mounted; I was wanting to do something like that on my Slate. The bed does look a bit different than other's I've seen.

I was wondering about this also for the sake of hauling sheet goods. Like lots of other folks, I'll be cutting 2x4 or 2x6 lumber to make supports that fit in the built-in pockets to have the full bed width. While that provides support, we'll need attachment points above and below to run a strap that keeps the goods from sliding back. The yellow marked points for the roll bar look like the best candidates.
