I think an aero chase rack could be sweet. An angled rear tire mount in the bed would be a bit ridiculous (real off-roaders would say you need 2 if you're going to be a prerunner for the Baja 1000, but a Slate needs a lot more than a second spare tire to do that). Regardless, it could be a fun look:I'm hoping find a way to strap a spare tire to the bed with 3 mounting points. I don't want the rear bumper thing. If I need the whole bed for something I'll remove the spare. I'll use a small hydraulic jack kept in the frunk or cab.
Yes, I know the angles are wrong and the rim is wrong and the tire is wrong, but I generally hate AI and don't have the skills or time to do this in Gimp. You get the idea.
Something like this could do the job, with a little fab work to adjust mounting points?
