It's a moonshot but depending on the clearance for me behind the seats/how deep the well is behind them, I might try to stuff a donut spare back there in a zippered bag or something. Might keep the rubber smell down and avoid me having to externally mount it. I like the idea of the spare tire carrier, but rather it be on the tailgate as a swing-out.

Speaking of donuts, is there any info as to appropriate donut spare yet?

I don't think so. Only one of my cars in my fleet has a donut so I'd have to look at it to see how much smaller it is in diameter than the proper wheels and tires. I have no clue what amount you can undersize them and get away with it on an EV drivetrain like that. I have no issues grabbing a spare tire from another vehicle if it's the appropriate size.

It's possible if you put the wrong size tire on it will invoke a "limp mode" and you will be driving slowly.

Anyone notice that from the first prototypes to the more recent views this trap compartment has seemed to change a bit?

It used to be more U-shaped, and I think covered the seat AND roll bar attachment points. Now it seems to just cover the seat area, and there's individual rubber plugs covering the roll bar attachment points.
