I have my eye on the Cargo Kit and have made the following assumptions about it:
  1. Its basically the same topper as the SUV Kit and can be wrapped the same way.
  2. It doesn't include the SUV Kit rear seats or airbags, thus it costs less.
  3. It doesn't include the roll bar which I think is a safety requirement for installing the rear seats. No seats means no need for the roll bar and no intrusions into the cargo space. I am assuming that structurally, the topper does not require the roll bar. Eliminating the roll bar saves cost.
  4. The topper can be ordered either with glass (like the SUV Kit topper) or solid composite side panels. The latter might make the most sense as without rear passengers, why would you need that rear glass? Well you might need it to help remove blind spots. Perforated window vinyl allows you to see through the glass from the inside, but the graphics are not as sharp as solid vinyl. I think cost wise this is close to a wash either way.
If anyone knows anything solid about the Cargo Kit, please share.

I built and reserved a fastback, but I really don't want the second row of seats. I did not see anything about a cargo kit. Is this the same thing?

It’s listed under FAQs as a body style option.

Also, what is the weight-carrying rating for the Cargo Kit topper?

I would like the topper without the seat as well, maybe add the seat later

Just an FYI, the builder is just a fun toy to play with while we wait. Whatever you do with it at the moment has no bearing on your reservation and the truck you'll eventually purchase. All of those choices will come later.

I’d want the windows like the SUV.
That’s definitely a Cargo Kit. I’m not sure if that is a wrapped rear glass panel or solid panel. I’m pretty sure the topper can be ordered either way.

I would be interested in some glass back there, since I might be using it as the living room of my camper setup. Maybe plastic? Free daylight, maybe some opening for fresh air. But my dream of turning this into a camper vehicle is suffering. A little tight for sleeping in the bed, not sure about a roof top tent on top. We'll see ...

must remember to take my tape measure to Detroit in four weeks. Hope the demo at Riverfront is still on!

I’m with you on the bed being tight for sleeping. That said, I was able to fit (barely) a 30ā€ x 73ā€ sleeping cot plus fridge into my FJ and I’m pretty sure I could do the same with a Slate. Need room for two? Throw a RTT on the roof rack.
