That was said in the very first message.

"On June 24th, when pre-orders open, full pricing will be announced at the same time."

"You see the numbers first, then decide if you want to move forward."
I still want to test drive it before I part with my hard earned money.

That is your prerogative, but be aware you will drop to the end of the line after 30 days.

True, and I'm not prepared to drop $25,000 + and find out it handles like a Reliant Robin, which also used plastic (fiberglass) body panels . :CWL:

I can pretty much say it won’t be like one of those by a long shot. 4 wheels and low center of gravity, it will drive pretty good… Jay Leno thought so.

Haha, no, it will drive just fine. Suspension design has gotten very standardized and in this basic category of MacPherson struts you can pretty much guarantee that the Slate will drive like virtually every other inexpensive car in its weight class.

This is a key difference between the Slate and, say Aptera (or the Reliant!) - Slate is trying to be cheap by relying on as much off-the-shelf basics as they can, and NOT reinventing the wheel, rather than reinventing everything in a hail mary to reduce cost (and the possibility of a hilarious failure).

I think the art here is actually more fun - what is the best handling vehicle you can buy with basic off the shelf parts? That kind of engineering constraint is more likely to get a good result than "you can design it literally however you want".
