If it's delivered to my house I'll get my moneys worth out of it. I live far from bigger cities. I paid more to have a classic car shipped.

It means I can get the animated signal lights and still be in my budget! I was going to get the tonneau cover, but with all the interesting talk about the cargo kit, I'm going to wait on that...

It will cost more to be shipped to your house, how much will depend on how far from the distribution point Slate sends it to for your area. To save the additional cost you will have to go to Slate’s designated distribution point for pickup.

So is this about right?

If so, the more that bail, I guess the quicker those that hold will get theirs.

Is this an actual Slate/Slate Event, or some kind of AI thing?

Everything you buy has taxes. Good to account for in affordability, but not a criticism, and that seems how it's presented. If you want less taxes on an affordable car, well. It's not Slate you'll need to complain to.

AI thing. Troll. Apparently Tesla and Mercedes don't have taxes.

Totally AI. Just a parody. But about right on the price, I guess.

In California, it lines up. I calculated it all an hour or so ago, and that is within $20 of my calculation. Of course the taxes and fees would apply to any new vehicle purchase. The potential ford EV will start at least $5k more, and then have a higher destination, and taxes will be almost $500 more, so it's total would be at least $35k best case scenario.
Have to compare apples to apples. Can't compare Slate out the door total price with taxes and destination to another promised but still a year or more off vehicle's planned MSRP.
