I'm betting that the reason they disappeared from the automotive landscape is due to being outlawed by NHTSA or some other regulating entity. Likely too many people got direct shot of a bug in the eye and sued the manufacturer for negligence.

The triangle windows are great for smoking. Not many smokers anymore. My ‘74 GMC pickup has an ashtray large enough for a whole carton of butts. I use the vent windows every time I drive it (it don’t think it’ll start without a smoke). Add an ashtray and cigarette lighter to the Slate and those vent windows will come in handy.

Not going to argue over bugs ..for sure they can come in...just doesn't happen very often. Have had wing windows in something my whole life...need a breath of fresh air...no noisy window to roll down ..regulate how much air you want .never saw a disadvantage to them. AC is great but would rather save the battery power for distance. Never needed AC up in Wisconsin much... maybe for one month if we're lucky. Still have 3 trucks with wings...use them a lot.
