ABRP says there's a section of the route that has low charger density for approximately the last.... two thousand three hundred miles of the trip to your place? Might be hard to drive my Slate there from here.
Yup, noticed that

Although the hand-crank windows base feature is what got my attention regarding Slate's simplicity, upon reflection I think I may actually want power windows. It depends on how the switches are configured. You see I'm becoming old & infirm & would rather not lean across to the manual crank on the passenger side to get extra ventilation on hot summer days. I can't tell from any images or descriptions I've seen. Does the kit include 2 switches on the driver's side?
I work in Advanced Development at a company that makes window regs. I am also a preorderer. I have talked to me supervisor and he is on board with using our tech to build power windows. Just thought I'd ask around to gauge some interest. I don't supposed anyone has door cavity information?

Also, I happen to live in Troy, very close to HQ. If anyone is headed here, let me know.

One thing would be see about signing on with Slate to actually make them for Slate. There will be some legal requirements, but that would get you all the specs you need.

I'm sure that at a reasonable price, the majority would want power windows.

There was a reddit post today where someone discussed the power window situation with an employee at the Crayola event. The story they were given is:
- power windows are not off the table
- on the back burner for now so they can concentrate on critical issues to get to shipping
- problem has to do with crash testing

That got me thinking about the door cavity mentioned in the post above. The door structure is critical for crash testing. Wondering if they were having a hard time getting a DYI upgrade to fit in the cavity if they had to change the door structure for 5 star pass.

Just riffing a theory.

Maybe they're holding back and expecting a third-party solution.

If the third-party solution can be added to the Slate website that would be a lot less work than developing it as an official Slate kit.

The lack of electric windows has been my biggest disappointment. I’m down for solutions.

The original renders when you added the power window option showed a cube where the crank was, so not sure how much "in the door cavity" the option actually was.
If it was actually as rendered, that would be kind of odd.

Don't want no barnacle on my door!
As long as the end result is: most of the way down, all of the way up, less than 30 seconds, no shorts/fires, and no carpal tunnel syndrome, I’m in!
