interesting had no idea this existed. Here is an example

These kits seem to run about 65 on amazon. This is for both windows
Hopefully the official one will be about $100. I'd pay maybe up to $150 for it, given the neat and tidy door lock & window switch panel they've designed.

I'd pay for that if it was easy to connect/disconnect at the door level (hanging tough to my air motif dream).

Kudos to inventor, creator and YouTuber Matty Benedetto who came up with an electric, button-activated hand that rolls down the windows. Now you can have crank and power windows at the same time!

Cute 3D printed solutions aside, I want to point out that from an engineering standpoint making a crank window that easily converts to a power window is absolutely more expensive than just shipping the truck with power windows standard. This isn't a complaint about crank windows, I've had several vehicles with crank windows and they're fine. It's very obvious that the purpose of the crank windows in the Slate isn't for cost savings, it's pure journalist bait. Modern automotive journalists don't know what to do with themselves when they don't have AI powered mood lighting and radar guided HVAC vents to talk about, so crank windows are the distraction.

Exactly what I have been saying for months. Deciding to go with a manual crank mechanism (which needs to be sourced from Brazil) AND designing the electrical system and door internals to also fit an optional electric window drive mechanism ADDS engineering cost and complication to the design rather than reduce costs through simplicity. While all Slate Trucks will be built to a single configuration on the assembly line (to reduce manufacturing costs by simplification - we get that) they spent expensive engineering and management resources to design, test, and source the optional electric window drive mechanism.

Add in the fact the Truck has electric door locks and the baiting becomes more obvious. Oh, that's right, it is about women's safety, because they can't find their keys in their pocketbook...
