Sounds like a good deal, if you want to deal with a Nissan dealership, want a 4 door pickup, and want to buy gasoline
It's a king cab not a crew cab, so it's the smallest cab configuration. It does have 4 doors, but the rear doors are coach doors for access to the area behind the front seats. This is a cab configuration on both full-size and small/mid-sized pickups have utilized for 35 years or so. It has a 6-foot bed.

Dealerships do not scare me. It's just a business transaction. They either want to trade their truck for my money or they don't.

Ever deal with an electrician? 🤣

I do like to buy gasoline. Lol.

The federal mandate for EV battery warranties requires manufacturers to provide coverage for a minimum of eight years or 100,000 miles. In California, the warranty is extended to ten years or 150,000 miles.
One has to ask why did the Feds mandate a BEV warranty? Lol.

Never read that one. Is that akin to "echo chamber"?
A self-own is a situation where someone unintentionally embarrasses or undermines themselves, often while trying to criticize or insult someone else. It typically occurs in social media contexts, where a person's attempt to make a point backfires, revealing their own flaws or contradictions.

Now do you see what I did there?

It's to overcome FUD.

Contrary to being a "meaningless internetism", FUD is a thing, and has been a thing since before the internet existed. Sleazy sales tactics have been around for a long time!

The term "FUD," which stands for "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt," originated in the 1920s and was popularized in the 1970s by Gene Amdahl, who used it to describe a marketing strategy employed by IBM to instill doubt in potential customers considering alternatives to their products. This tactic has since been used in various fields, including technology sales and public relations, to influence perceptions through negative or misleading information.

Put another way, the warranty mandate exists to boost consumer confidence and encourage EV adoption.

TL;DR: The Slate is more of a threat to established manufacturers than the other way around because it's something they don't offer, and it will change consumer expectations in a direction they don't want consumer expectations to go.

The multi-billion-dollar auto manufacturers have sophisticated ways of keeping track of consumer desires. I'm guessing Slate Automotive's appearance on the scene has given those established manufacturers a bit of a jolt.

If you listen to the recent interview of Tisha Johnson you'll find out that they deliberately focused on true simplicity with nothing frivolous. She also speaks about small trucks leaving the market and people asking for them to come back.

They sell a steak. You can add whatever sizzle you prefer. It's a novel idea that just might work.

If Slate sells every unit they can produce it'll be less than one percent of new light vehicle sales. It won't be everything to everybody, but it doesn't need to be.

Or... your capability to find humor in things people post.

Maybe protect against proliferation of newer technologies.
back in 2/17 I bought a tricked out Slate’s worth of salt water batteries for my house system to replace my 10 yo LA bank. About a month later the Obama startup went bankrupt, so much for warranty. The CEO/professor went back to his Carnegie Mellon position. In Nov 2019, I had to replace the failed bank, this time with LiFePO.

It's an internet label applied in weakness when a person is losing or lost an argument. Negative information is not misleading.

Now I see why "cognitive dissonance" is on your list.

But discussing why she may be wrong, or Slate's view of the Market is possibly incorrect is not FUD.

What list?
The list in your self-own post:
"FUD" is just another meaningless internetism, like "confirmation bias", "strawman argument", "logical fallacy", "ad hominem", et cetera.

Psychobabble phrases used by people when they've lost an argument on the net.
