I don't know how they're set up yet, but my Geo has the tailgate-mounted spare tire. The jack and lug-wrench are mounted under the passenger seat. These are things that are probably completely absent on the prototype.
Yeah, behind the seat is one place I thought of, people seeing the prototypes have said there was surprising space there, but if it doesn't come with a spare be default? Or maybe it will come with a donut spare somewhere by default and it just hasn't been mentioned.

Since a spare at all seems to be an add on for the slate, this all does need to be a consideration, and slate should come up with something more than they have before launch. I know some cars don't come with a spare, but those have run flat tires. Do any vehicles just by default come with no consideration for flats?
Come to think of it, even with the tailgate spare, where is the jack?
A lot of cars these days come with a can of fix-a-flat and an air pump. My Ariya was that way, and so are the Prius, Tesla, and many others. Interestingly, the FWD Ariya has room for a spare under the rear deck if one removes the foam insert, so I did that and have a full-size spare now without taking up any above-deck storage space. It does take a little of the hidden space. A donut spare would have fit without taking up any of that either, but I decided to go with a full-size spare.

I do a lot of long-distance trips and will want a spare with the Slate too. I prefer full-size, but can live with a donut.
