Wheels Specs - Bolt Pattern / Offset? Tire Size Change Via App?

Curious about wheel spec. What bolt pattern and offset is it? Also, can the end user adjust speedo/odometer calibration for change in tire size? OTA update from your phone to adjust in app would be an amazing feature!

A 16" wheel is lighter than a 17 and provides 1/2" more sidewall height.

I looked up my likely tire choice. It weighs two pounds less in 235/85R16 compared to 235/80R17 (44 pounds vs. 46 pounds). Lowering un-sprung weight by installing a lighter tire and wheel with a taller sidewall provides advantages, including an efficiency advantage.

I would be surprised if a 16in rim would fit. Ev's have generally large front brakes to help with the added weight and recharge so fitting the inner diameter of the rim becomes a challenge. Personally I would love a 16 but it's decline in popularity has really reduced the options available for it in the past years. I think 17 will be as small as they can go. Hopefully it's a standard size so other makers rims could potential swap on without fuss.

You can choose to outfit your Slate with nearly any wheel type. The All-Terrain tire of 215/85R16 (30.4" x 8.5") is applicable to the built. We utilize such a common bolt pattern many different styles can be used to outfit a Slate.​

It's "applicable to the built"!

Despite the agent's affirmative reply, I agree that 16-inch wheels possibly won't work because they could interfere with what's behind the wheel.

Ultimately it's a deliberate design choice. Either they are designing it to accept a 16-inch wheel or they aren't.

Did you ever get a response to your question on speedo / odo calibration? As an FYI, Tesla has addressed this with a built in app on the settings menu. No OTA update required!

Shouldn't an app be able to do that if the device has GPS capability? Enable odo-speedo-setting mode, drive straight forward some distance, save.
