Wonder if they will have a custom wrap design such as not just 1 sold color such as stripes lines circles with different colors. Like have the truck outline then color design it. True customization of the wrap. Now that would be nice.

There is another thread with a link to a California wrap shop that has a browser-based designer with the Slate Truck as an existing template. Unfortunately, you have to register an account to save anything, and I found the designer interface to not be user friendly.

While I understand the rationale of registering an account, I also wonder if any of these companies realize how many such registration turns off and we just leave, no longer interested.

I've rattle can "dipped" a few things with mixed results. It's amateur hour in my garage, but it has worked well for changing the color of things temporarily or semi-permanently. I have not had good luck with wheels (dip tears at the lug nuts), and dipping my motorcycle tank was a real disaster as I didn't appreciate how much I gripped the tank with my knees, or how quickly gasoline ruins dip. It looked great before installation though.

Done professionally, plastidip can rival real paint for looks, and it can be cheaper than a wrap. It also comes off in large sheets without heat if it's thick enough (and it should be). Wrapping has advantages in applying logos, patterns, and slightly longer lifespan. The absence of gasoline on the Slate will ensure you don't ruin the dip when you pull the gasoline nozzle out of the filler and drip some on your finish.

I’m still intrigued with the “take each panel off and spray” ideas…as mentioned before, there are plenty of tints for the dips…

Nearly every city has multiple shops that can do that after sales.
So Slate has options. ONE increase the price so they can stock and pay property tax on all the different things they need to have...
Contract with a local auto-paint place to re-paint before delivery and of course you pay more still

Or let you find a body shop to do it .
