At minimum, every suv or truck needs dual motor. Non starter. Also, should be 2k tow with one motor, 3.5k tow with two. Especially at these prices. Incentives won’t be around forever.

I think you've missed the point, and target market, of this vehicle. I need to haul a dog, a bike, and a plastic kayak. This is perfect for me.
No, slate missed the point of the vehicle. These are baseline benchmarks that should be hit very easily by any modern designed vehicle. 2k tow should be a no brainer for this wheelbase and unibody construction.

If you want all of that then buy a Rivian, that's not the point of this truck.
Nobody is cross shopping a slate and a rivian. You are missing the point. A 2k tow package is not a challenge on a modern design unibody vehicle. They got lazy in the specs. Frankly it’s embarrassing.

Given the power and payload capacity, 2k pounds should be no problem. The problem is with a baseline range of 150 miles, you would lose so much range it’s not really feasible. If you are looking to tow- even a modest 2k lbs- get a Maverick, or even a Tesla as some have pointed out. Lots of us want bare bones and can make concessions with towing.

I'd rather be allowed to worry about the range myself. I hope they can re-think the tow capacity and come up with 2k or 2.5k as still being safe. Most of the small utility trailers are minimum 500 pounds empty, so a 1000# limit is very limiting. What if there is a business that just wants to move a half ton around town, maybe only 30 miles in a day.

And I don't want a gas vehicle (Maverick).

And certainly not Tesla. Would have to sell that within 24 hours at best offer. Spouse and most of my friends can still swing a sledge hammer...

This just the first model. Like the first iPhone. No App Store. Not apps from others and look where that got us. Next model may have more and more and then maybe a 4 door suv in the 9h year model.

Some people say, "Give the customers what they want." But that's not my approach. Our job is to figure out what they're going to want before they do. I think Henry Ford once said, "If I'd asked customers what they wanted, they would have told me, 'A faster horse!'" People don't know what they want until you show it to them. That's why I never rely on market research. Our task is to read things that are not yet on the page.
