I see they're using my Minimus 7 speakers.

The diagram looks like a patent filing. Please tell me the US Patent Office didn't grant this.

That's 100% a toolbox for people that don't use tools. How do you even close it without everything falling off the shelves?
Exactly. It strikes me as similar to a tool display at a Target store that was set up by someone who never uses tools.

Seems to be more of a workbench setup at the top half, to hold tools while at a job. Beyond that, it's a first prototype, not something anyone is close to offering for sale. Might inspire some to make their own DIY versions though, possibly with some kind of hold-downs for the tools so they stay in place when stowed and driving.

Looks like at least for the wrenches they are attached to a magnetic strip. The bottles though...

At risk of sounding senile- I think this group gives a ton of slack to Slate on stuff like this. This was released as a promo to show people "look what we can do!"- but it is clearly half-baked and poorly thought out. I'm not asking for a working demo on-sale, this could have been made out of painted cardboard for goodness sake, but they went through the trouble of making this, approving it, and releasing it- when it's clearly a gimmick, and non-functional for the group they are trying to appease.

Sure hope no valuable resources spent on that. Now if it slid to rear and the wrench part dropped down vs up, maybe?

Lots of trades people use the various tool manufacturers "stackable" tool case systems. Milwaukee, Craftsman, Dewalt, etc. all have tool packing systems now.

I didn't get the whole hydraulic suspension apparatus of this custom box.

And it doesn’t look waterproof.

I know a couple of people who actually need to carry tools in their trucks.

They have toolboxes similar to this:

Then again, the one in the OP pairs with the Steering Wheel Happy Rug pretty well.
